Staunch Test FAIL.
Staney (Hugh Jackman) is a hacker known for infecting FBI’s computers with a virus. His parole prevents him from accessing the internet until a woman named Ginger (Halle Berry) persuades him to work for the mysterious Gabriel (John Travolta).
Dominic Sena’s Swordfish is a not-so-thrilling action movie with a pointlessly complicated plot. Every character is poorly written, they are all action movie stereotypes which is a waste considering all the talented actors in the cast.
All the female characters in this movie are either victims, pornstars or strippers. It’s quite clear that women are not the target demographic for Swordfish, honestly, watching this movie made me feel uncomfortable and embarrassed.
At the beginning of the movie there’s a scene involving various hostages wearing vests loaded with explosives. The hostages are mainly women and one of them later explodes.
Halle Berry’s character, who’s main purpose in the plot is to look seductive, is pushed a couple of times, hanged and shot but don’t worry, she’s surprisingly not dead at the end!
Swordfish is not a good movie and it’s also a #StaunchTestFail.
