Staunch Test FAIL.

Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman) runs a service that allows people to relive their memories. After his girlfriend Mae (Rebecca Ferguson) disappears he investigates to learn the truth about her and to get her back trying not to be consumed by his memories.

Lisa Joy’s not-so-very original neo-noir sci-fi film seems to be a reminiscent of better movies of the same genre, such as Minority Report and Blade Runner.

Rebecca Ferguson’s character looks like an idea, a concept more than a real character. This is something that happens a lot when movies deal with femme fatale characters but this just proves once again that this film didn’t even tried to be original.
It didn’t try to pass the Staunch test either as Mae is constantly grabbed and pushed until she kills herself.
It’s a #StaunchTestFail.
