A demoted police officer assigned to a call dispatch desk is conflicted when he receives an emergency phone call from a kidnapped woman. A very one dimensional film, all filmed in one setting. The description makes it sound more riveting than it actually is. Jake Gyllenhaal does the best he can with a poorly written script. The film’s intention is to create suspense and drama with the call of a ‘kidnapped woman’. There is a twist, it’s disappointing . This is a #StaunchTestDebate as the kidnapped woman storyline exploits women’s fear and maintains a questionable threat of violence in the background.
