Staunch Test FAIL.
People suddenly lose the ability to sleep and it’s just a matter of time before the symptoms of sleep deprivation lead humanity to death. Jill (Gina Rodriguez), a former U.S. army member, tries to keep her children safe especially since her daughter Matilda (Ariana Greenblatt) can still sleep.
Everything happens a bit too fast in this Mark Raso movie, some people start going insane in just one night of sleep deprivation making the plot a bit funny at some point.
Gina Rodriguez perfectly plays the role of a scared but trained mother, she knows she’s going to die and she’s not afraid to grab a gun and scare away everyone who tries to hurt her family. That being said, the one who tries to kill her by chocking her is going to be her teenage son Noah (Lucius Hoyos) during a bout of madness caused by sleep deprivation.
An old and suffering woman who can still sleep is used as a guinea pig by scientists and in the end a bunch of soldiers go insane and start shooting everyone (both men and women).
Awake is going to be another StaunchTestFail.
